Programs

Music

Beats, Rhythms, and Rhyme

Consists of ever-changing courses and workshops that cover an introduction to beat production and turntablism. Concluding with building a song track and the option of recording yourself rapping or singing over it.

This program gives teens a chance to:

  • Explore music technology
  • Learn beatmaking & DJ skills
  • Build confidence & creativity
  • Connect with other young artists

Friends For A_Dog understands that music education can help its participants find reasons to thrive even when they don’t always feel they have access. Through music, we strive to build connections and spark creativity while fostering a genuine sense of community. We believe that MUSIC opens gateways to unique opportunities.

How

The Foundation presents these workshops in diverse settings & venues, in our local communities in partnerships with other like-minded non-profit organizations such as “Building Beats NYC”, “King Street Center” of Burlington, VT, and “B.F.A. Saint Albans”.

Why

Friends For A_Dog recognizes the importance and impact music plays on an individual’s life. We understand that socioeconomic disparities play a factor for many communities seeking access to these opportunities. Friends For A_Dog continues to navigate ways to improve access to programming for all students.
